Moose Lake BWCA Trip
Was lucky enough to take my daughter on a short 2 night 3 day trip the BWCA a few weeks ago. We started at the Moose Lake entrypoint and went north into Newfoundland Lake and back. A nice and easy no portage trip!
I dont think my daughter enjoyed the paddling as much as the hiking, eating, and craft time at camp!
Other notes from this trip"
- This was the maiden BWCA voyage for our Northstar Polaris canoe and it did great! The IXP layup is heavier but it was nice to not worry about coming in hot to a beach or bumping rocks.
- I got almost no fishing in as it was so windy and hard to attend to my daughter while also paddling hard.
- Having a monoscope is great for spotting campsites out on the lake.
- The Firebox Stove Nano did a great job this trip. We baked biscuits on it, fried pancakes, and boiled water for meals on it.
